My other favorite real-life Christmas story is, of course, Yes Virginia, There Is a Santa Claus.1. In middle school, I discovered the John McCutcheon song "Christmas
in the Trenches" one day at the library; and
2. My mother made me watch the children's story "Silent Mouse" whenever it aired on PBS, and it briefly alludes to the first holiday season of the Great War.
