Same tune as the Canadian national anthem!

Thanks in part to Torgo, this week has been filled with flashbacks.

Am at a conference in Portland, on the Reed College campus. It resembles almost every other small, private liberal arts school. And all that that implies.

I'd forgotten what it's like to be surrounded by manicured lawns and Georgian architecture.

Improvement from last year's same conference: they now let guests use the wireless network. =)

Hey! No dissin' on Reed!

I thought Colby was unique in every imaginable way -- are you telling me another school has manicured lawns, Georgian architecture, and that small, liberal arts school feel?

Next thing, you'll tell me the students shop at Abercrombie & Fitch, carry around Nalgene bottles, and all seem to come from snobby private college prep schools.

Who said I was dissin' Reed? It seems nice.... It's in a city, how can I complain?

The students aren't here. I have no idea what they're like. I don't think they wear A&F and NorthFace, though.

But there is that old familiar dorm-room smell....

going into A&F stores still gives me panic attacks.

I high school, there was this one A&F picture with a really hot guy holding a soccer ball. I would go into the store just to stare at it. A friend of mine said he tried to go in and buy it from the store as a b-day present for me, but they wouldn't sell it. Of course, that's completely separate from why I don't go there!
