"[w]hat was any art but ... a sheath, a mould in which to imprison for a moment the shining, elusive element which is life itself - life hurrying past us and running away, too strong to stop, too sweet to lose." - Willa Cather, Song of the Lark

Masochistic tendencies
A friend has this massage tool, and we have somewhat similar physical therapy schedules and experiences, so I played around with it.
I think I went a little overboard. I swear I woke up this morning with internal bruises. Oh, the pain.
This seems to cross the line from deep tissue massage to something more akin to flagellation.
Did you ever go to the Armory Museum in Worcester, with the collection of weapons and torture devices from throughout history (and actual metal chastity belts, which were fascinating to us high schoolers visiting when I went)?

This may belong there.
I would have gone if I'd known about it! (Unless there was an entrance fee, which I probably wouldn't have been able to afford on my PIRG salary...)
